Installation of SMARTDOCK

Prepare installation

Move the throttle lever to the neutral position, switch off the ignition and disconnect the power supply via the main switch.

Expose the wiring of the throttle lever

Expose the wiring of the throttle lever in the helm stand. To do this, loosen the four hexagon socket screws on the cover and then pull the throttle lever upwards. The connection is located on the underside of the throttle lever.

Disconnect the plug

Disconnect the plug at the slot “Data Link” by pressing down the black latch and pulling out the connector at the same time.

ATTENTION: The "Multilink" slot has the same connector type; this cannot be used.

Connect the ECU in between

Now connect your ECU in between using the wiring harness supplied. The ECU has one connector and one socket. Connect the connector with the matching counterpart of the gear lever. Make sure that the connections are made properly and are firmly seated.

Install the app

Now download the SMARTDOCK app from Google Play Store or App Store. When the app is started, a button for automatic set up is displayed.

ATTENTION: Do NOT tap on it at this point.

Activate the ECU pairing mode

Restore the power supply via the main switch and switch on the ignition. If no mobile phone has been paired with the ECU, pairing mode starts automatically. The continuously lit LED indicates that the pairing mode is active.

NOTICE: To pair the ECU with another smartphone, manually call up the pairing mode of the ECU by pressing the button on the device until the LED on the ECU lights up continuously (pairing mode active). Alternatively, you can also activate the pairing mode via the app on a paired mobile phone to pair additional mobile phones with the ECU. To do this, select "Settings" > "Connected devices" > Name of the device.

Pair ECU and app

Now tap the "Start" button in the app to begin the automatic setup. After the app has recognised your devices, a tutorial will open and guide you through the set-up process for fine-tuning the settings.

Your app has been paired and is ready to use. We recommend that you use the demo mode to familiarise yourself with the controls.

Expose the wiring of the joystick in the helm stand. To do this, loosen the four hexagon socket screws on the cover and then pull the throttle lever upwards. The connection is located on the underside of the throttle lever.

Disconnect the plugs

Disconnect the plugs by pressing the black latch lever and pulling out the plug.

ATTENTION: One plug is for port (red marking), the other for starboard (green marking). The plugs must not be interchanged!

Connect the ECU in between

Now connect your ECU in between using the wiring harness supplied. The ECU has two connectors and two sockets. Here too, one plug is marked red (port) and one green (starboard). Connect the plug labelled red to the red counterpart of the gear lever wiring and the connector labelled green to the green counterpart of the gear lever wiring.
